About The Position

Higginbotham Brothers dates to 1881, when the company opened its first general store in Texas. Today, Higginbotham Brothers supplies professional builders, remodelers and do-it-yourselfers with lumber and a deep catalog of specialty building products, including hardware, windows, doors, plumbing materials and interior/exterior paint, from its 40 locations across Texas and Oklahoma. A Stihl Tool Technician has a high level of expertise and ability to diagnose and repair a variety of Stihl tools and equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience repairing power tools required.
  • Combination of power tool repair training from a vocational school required.
  • Good mechanical skills and understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Must be computer literate, organized and accurate
  • Occasional heavy lifting up to 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must have knowledge of threaded mechanical fasteners
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and make repairs on Stihl tools and equipment.
  • Disassemble tools and use testing devices to identify problems.
  • Follow manufacturer directions and warranty requirements when installing products.
  • Use technical manuals to determine required replacement parts and assemble tools based on manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Track time and materials as required for each repair job.
  • Prepare paperwork and keep stock of repair parts.
  • Operate all equipment in safe and responsible manner.
  • Manage inventory stock for customers which includes recording inventory needed for replenishment, reporting to buyer items needed for order, deliver stock and restocking product as per customer request.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Provide quality customer service.
  • Attend all training to learn new technology.
  • Cross-train in other areas to expand knowledge and expertise.
  • Comply with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.
  • Adheres to Company's commitment to workplace safety.
