About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Stick Welder to support an upcoming industrial project. Successful candidates must complete a weld test at our Chester, VA site prior to beginning work. Key Details Location: Newport News, VA (testing at Chester, VA site) Pay: $36/hour Duration: 2–3 months, with potential for extension Current Need: 1 opening Weld Test: Required (plate test and 6G pipe test; testing time is paid if candidate passes)

Requirements

• Proven stick welding experience in industrial settings
• Ability to pass weld test at Chester site (plate test and 6G pipe test)
• Strong attention to safety and quality standards

Nice To Haves

• Previous industrial project experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality stick welding on a variety of materials, including carbon steel
• Complete welds on pipe larger than 6 inches (6G position) in compliance with project standards
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, schematics, and specifications
• Ensure all work meets quality and safety requirements
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to maintain efficient workflow
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order
