About The Position

Proof of the Pudding is an award-winning catering company throughout the Southeast with a commitment to creating quality culinary concepts from scratch. This standard was upheld through the expansion into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services by providing elevated concessions and premium offerings to collegiate stadiums, PGA golf tournaments, International Boat Shows, Professional Sports Teams, & more. Proof of the Pudding, operator of DUKE University athletics’ food & beverage program, is looking for Stewards that will be responsible for a wide range of tasks to help ensure efficient overall operations of the changing event logistics and business needs. Work assignments and tasks can change daily based on the immediate needs of the event calendar at DUKE University’s athletic events. We are offering competitive pay and on-the-job training at one of the most scenic venues in North Carolina. This is seasonal/part-time work as business needs are dictated by athletic events.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Must be a phenomenal team player.
  • Flexibility to work events, weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1+ year of experience working in a kitchen or as a steward is preferred, experience in customer service role is preferred.
  • ServSafe Certified preferred.
  • Planning and multi-tasking
  • Self-motivated with a high energy level

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes, and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed. Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized.
  • Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
  • Maintains clean / dry floors throughout the shift.
  • Properly washes, stacks, and stores China, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.
  • Changes water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels, and properly uses chemical dilutions set by EcoLab.
  • Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries.
  • Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift.
  • Maintains the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
  • Assist with maintaining and organizing China and warehouse.
  • Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties.
  • Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
