About The Position

The Assistant Stewarding Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all stewarding operations to ensure the department runs smoothly, efficiently, and in full alignment with Four Seasons standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining an impeccably clean and organized “heart of house” and kitchen environment, while supporting the broader Food & Beverage operation. Key responsibilities include managing inventory and budgeting, ensuring the proper use and preventative maintenance of all machinery and equipment, and upholding all health and safety requirements. The Assistant Stewarding Manager also trains and supervises the Stewarding team, fostering a safe and collaborative workspace. Working closely with the Food & Beverage department—including the kitchen and banquet teams—as well as other heart-of-house teams, the Stewarding team plays a vital role in supporting smooth and efficient operations. The team embodies all Four Seasons cultural values while maintaining established standards, with professionalism expected at all times. This role reports to the Hotel’s Executive Chef.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and maintain physical mobility.
  • Strong understanding of sanitation techniques, cleaning chemicals, and industrial cleaning machinery.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing a diverse team and communicating effectively.
  • Two years of leadership experience in food handling, culinary, or stewarding roles preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a hotel or full-service restaurant is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Overseeing inventory levels, managing supply orders, and monitoring breakage to ensure all operational needs are consistently met
  • Operational Support: Coordinating with the kitchen and banquet teams to maintain cleanliness and provide essential equipment for food service
  • Equipment Management: Maintaining and tracking kitchen and dining equipment—including china, glassware, silverware, and supplies—to ensure items remain in excellent condition
  • Management/Supervision: Training and scheduling team members while maintaining accurate administrative records
  • Sanitation: Ensuring compliance with strict sanitation, food safety, and public health regulations
  • Communication/Teamwork: Developing, motivating, and supporting the team to consistently meet and exceed operational standards
