About The Position

The Steward helps clean the back of the kitchen areas and provides service for ware washing.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds unassisted or 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to follow directions and respond to emergencies in a prompt fashion.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised.
  • Must be able to work any shift, when needed.
  • Must be able to comprehend Basic English.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains procedures and controls for the kitchens, including safeguards against damage, pilferage, breakage and spoilage.
  • Maintains consistency, fairness and respect within the framework of established Western Village guidelines.
  • Maintains the highest levels of professionalism, including the proper dress code (aprons, gloves (when necessary) nametags, etc.).
  • Ensures that all safety standards are followed and reports all unsafe conditions to upper management.
  • Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective actions can be taken when appropriate.
  • Maintains kitchen and dish room areas to insure adequate productivity of the kitchen and service personnel needs.
  • Works with outlet chefs to insure a minimum 90% rating by the Washoe County Health Department in all food outlets and bars.
