About The Position

The Dishwasher position is responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks within the Culinary Department. The role ensures that the department is maintained in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department, and Joint Commission standards. This position offers cross-training opportunities and is PRN, on call, or as needed, with availability required from Sunday to Saturday. Shift assignments include various times throughout the day.

Requirements

  • Food Handler Permit (as required by State) or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work.
  • Previous Dishwasher experience following established processes within a food service establishment (preferred).
  • Demonstrates ability to read color coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and verbal directions.
  • Demonstrate ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and sanitizes dishes.
  • Collects carts with patient trays from hospital floors.
  • Cleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas using department cleaning procedures.
  • Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
  • Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
  • Operates and maintains assigned equipment (e.g. commercial dishwasher) according to established procedures.
