About The Position

The Steward at InterContinental Boston plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas. Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to stand and move about the kitchen or designated areas.
• Ability to handle objects, products, chemicals, and cleaning supplies safely.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing machine and ensure proper cleaning of dishes.
• Place clean dishes in assigned storage locations.
• Clean designated kitchen equipment and areas as assigned.
• Dispose of kitchen substances and chemicals properly.
• Empty and clean trash cans and transport garbage containers to dump sites.
• Set up work station and monitor chemical levels in dishwashing machine.
• Rinse and scrape all dishes before washing.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors after each meal period and spills.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through communication with other departments.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
