About The Position

We have an opening for full time STEWARD positions at La Mercerie located at 53 Howard Street, New York, NY 10013. This position requires a full time schedule, with days and hours that may vary. More details will be provided upon interview. No experience is necessary as we are willing to train. The pay range for this position is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop floors at appropriate intervals to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Operate large electric machines such as dishwashers, sanitizers, trash compactors, and glass crushers.
• Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks and all other food prep surfaces as assigned.
• Segregate and remove trash and garbage and place it in designated containers.
• Steam clean or hose out garbage cans in appropriate and assigned areas.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils and other food preparation machines and equipment.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas observing all safe lifting standards.
• Assist with banquet table and front of the house set up as requested.
• Assist with loading or unloading and delivering supplies and product.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed.
• Comply with all outlined sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
