About The Position

The Steward position at InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area, ensuring that all cookware, plates, glassware, silverware, and cutlery are properly cleaned and organized. This role is essential for supporting the kitchen staff and maintaining high standards of hygiene and service in a luxury hotel environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum formal education of some high school.
  • Minimum one-year job-related experience preferred.
  • Ability to abide by company appearance standards and compliance with the designated uniform.
  • Dedication to exceeding service standards and providing services to the highest caliber.
  • Ability to work any shift, including weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Use the correct cleaning chemicals for designated items, according to OSHA regulations.
  • Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies and equipment, reporting shortages to supervisor.
  • Clean the total kitchen including food service carts, walk-in coolers, freezers, service elevators, and loading dock area.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment, using it only as intended.
  • Perform ware-washing tasks on soiled dishes from the restaurant, banquet, and room service outlets using the dish machine.
  • Wash pots, pans, and other equipment by hand in the pot sinks as required.
  • Perform routine daily maintenance of the kitchen.
  • Clean and polish silver and copper chafing dishes, trays, etc.; burnish all silver as necessary.
  • Sweep and mop the kitchen floor as necessary to maintain a sanitary environment for food preparation.
