About The Position

As a Steward/Dishwasher at the Beach House Restaurant, at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, assisting with event setup and breakdown, and providing support to the kitchen staff. Your primary focus will be on dishwashing and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This role requires attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a dishwasher or steward preferred, particularly in a banquet or hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of proper dishwashing and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to operate dishwashing equipment and other cleaning tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the banquet schedule.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Utilizes an “open door” policy, and reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  • Dishwashing and Sanitation: Operate dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, and other banquet equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by following proper sanitation procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when restocking is needed.
  • Keep the dishwashing area clean, organized, and free of debris.
  • Work in a high volume operation.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of dishwashing equipment to ensure its proper functioning.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Handle and store banquet equipment properly to prevent damage or loss.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work collaboratively with the banquet team and other departments to ensure seamless coordination of event operations.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and guests to address any concerns or special requests.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new stewards/dishwashers as needed.
