About The Position

Serenely located within the historic Kansas City Club building, this premier Kansas City destination seamlessly combines the old-world charm of a historic social club with modern luxury and elegance. Drawing on over 100 years of history as the premier social meeting place, The Hotel Kansas City provides a truly unique setting for memorable events, as well as inventive dining and nightlife. In addition to the hotel's 144 guest rooms are the Town Company, a three-meal restaurant; Nighthawk, a live music cellar cocktail bar; and a lobby lounge and bar that will bring locals and guests together for impromptu mingling. For the event-minded guests, there will be 20,000 feet of meeting space that includes impressive historic ballrooms and a 3,000 square foot rooftop event patio.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred but not required.
  • Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
  • 1-2 years stewarding experience preferred.
  • Must have availability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English to communicate with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.

Responsibilities

  • Operate pot-washing machine and dish-washing machine.
  • Maintain a hygienic working environment in accordance with hygiene regulations and company standards.
  • Carry out general cleaning as directed and ensure the correct PPE is in place.
  • Sweeping, mopping, washing, wiping down, and emptying trash receptacles.
  • Responsible for cleaning the coolers, freezers, and any back hallways.
  • Ensuring all kitchen and back of the house areas are kept clean, all equipment is stored in its proper location and cleaned in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
  • Observe Health, Hygiene & Safety guidelines when handling hazardous substances.
  • Report any maintenance and/or hazard issues to the supervisor on duty.
  • Responsible for maintaining the kitchen with china, glasses and silverware.
  • Responsible for helping the kitchen plate up and dish out menu orders when needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage.
