About The Position

The Sterilization Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of Ethylene Oxide (ETO) and Propylene Oxide (PPO) sterilization chambers. This role plays a key part in ensuring all sterilization processes are performed according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs), with strict adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, maintains a clean and organized workspace, and demonstrates strong communication and teamwork skills.

Requirements

  • Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and arithmetic.
  • Familiarity with basic computer operations and data entry.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb as required by operational tasks.
  • Ability to be organized and follow up on tasks
  • Ability to take instruction
  • Ability to communicate both written and orally (Bilingual English/Spanish a plus)
  • Ability to work in an interdepartmental team setting and independently

  • Experience operating a forklift / Willing to be certified and trained as a forklift operator

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate ETO/PPO sterilization chambers according to scheduled cycles and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure full compliance with all standard operating procedures related to sterilization processes.
  • Accurately document and maintain records of all treated and untreated products on a daily basis.
  • Collect and log microbiological samples from each product batch as required.
  • Adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and safety protocols.
  • Load and unload products into and out of sterilization chambers, ensuring proper handling and placement.
  • Review batch cards and customer specifications to ensure accuracy of treatment processes.
  • Support inventory control efforts, including participation in routine cycle counts.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
