About The Position

Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, assembling, and sterilizing all instruments and equipment for all patient care areas of the hospital.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/equivalent.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician required or obtained within the first 18 months of employment. Only IAHSCMM certifications are recognized.
• 1 year of Central/Sterile Processing experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelors degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in clinical care and procedures in the responsible department.
• Demonstrates computer skills and technical competency.
• Follows policies for cleaning, assembling and sterilizing all instruments and equipment of all areas of the hospital as well as operation and care of same equipment and instruments.
• Retrieves all supplies and equipment as needed form patient care areas and returns to Sterile Processing.
• Operates cleaning and sterilization equipment in the department according to manufacturer’s recommendation.
• Engages in activities to expand and/or enhance the role of the CRCST.
• Accepts flexible scheduling when necessary. Performs call duties as assigned.
• Accepts other duties that may be assigned by the SPD Manager or Supervisor as necessary to facilitate the functions of the department and hospital.
• Utilizes effective communication skills in interactions with employees, customers and peers and promotes teamwork.
• Dons/doffs PPE appropriately.
