STERILE PROCESSING TECHNOLOGIST
About The Position
Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center (SCHHC), a Critical Access Hospital in Bandon, Oregon, is seeking a Full-Time onsite Sterile Processing Technician. This role is crucial for maintaining quality healthcare by ensuring the proper processing, sterilization, and cleaning of medical equipment, instruments, and supplies within the Operating Room. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the flow of supplies, from retrieving contaminated items to delivering sterile ones, maintaining inventory, and preparing sterile instrument trays for various medical procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Sterile processing certification is required
- Have and maintain Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) Certification
- Two years of experience is required
- Strong interpersonal skills with a drive to provide exceptional service
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Computer proficiency specifically in Microsoft Office and online software
- U.S. citizens or have proper authorization to work in the United States
Responsibilities
- Processing, sterilization, and cleaning of the medical equipment, instruments, and supplies in the Operating Room
- Retrieving contaminated supplies
- Delivering sterile supplies
- Maintaining inventory
- Preparing sterile instrument trays for surgeries, examinations, and procedures
