About The Position

The position involves receiving, identifying, and decontaminating surgical instruments, patient care equipment, carts, and other miscellaneous supplies. The employee will inspect, assemble, and wrap items for terminal sterilization using steam and sterrad methods. Additionally, the role includes storing and redistributing sterile supplies to user departments, operating all departmental equipment used in the processing system, and maintaining accurate sterilizer records. The employee is responsible for ensuring an adequate level of supplies by notifying the supervisor or ordering from the storeroom, as well as maintaining a neat, clean, and safe working environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Participation in a program for the operating room and/or sterile processing department is desirable.
• Certification must be obtained within 18 months of employment.
• Sterile processing department and/or operating room processing experience preferred.
• On-the-job training will be provided, with 90 days required for training.
