About The Position

The Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in the surgical services department by ensuring that all surgical instruments are properly decontaminated, inspected, packaged, and sterilized. This position is vital in preventing surgical site infections and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety. The technician will be responsible for monitoring sterilization parameters and regularly testing and cleaning sterilization equipment to ensure that all instruments are safe for use in surgery.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination of all instrumentation utilized in surgery
• Inspection, packaging and sterilization of instrument trays
• Monitoring of sterilization parameters to ensure sterility of all instruments utilized in surgery
• Regular testing and cleaning of sterilization equipment
• Vital role in preventing surgical site infections
• Integral team member in the surgical services department
