IL-SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital - Mount Vernon Worker Type: Regular Job Highlights: This is a full-time, day/evening-shift position working Mon-Fri from 11am-7:30pm. Training will be from 7am-3:30pm for 2 weeks, then 6a-2:30pm for 1 week, then 10am-6:30pm for 3 months until going to your normal shift of 11am-7:30pm. There is a call requirement Fri/Sat/Sun once every 4-6 weeks. Call response time is 1 hour. Must have attention to detail and be able to lift up to a 50-pound instrument tray. Will be cleaning/sterilizing surgical instruments after use. May have to occasionally float to St. Mary’s in Centralia Pay Range: $17.23 - $25.85 Pay Rate Type: Hourly SSM Health values the skills and talents that each team member brings to our organization. Job Summary: Inspects, assembles and evaluates all surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure proper sterilization, completeness of set, and to determine need for repair/replacement.
Requirements
- Must have attention to detail and be able to lift up to a 50-pound instrument tray.
- High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
Responsibilities
- Performs decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to established protocols.
- Inspects instruments, equipment and containers to assure cleanliness and proper functioning.
- Corrects instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets and/or instrument tracking systems.
- Maintains proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
