Requirements

On-the-job training or formal sterile processing / central service training within 30–90 days of hire (Certification requirements may apply based on union or organizational guidelines.)

Responsibilities

Decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging, and sterilizing surgical instruments and medical equipment
Operating autoclaves and washer sterilizers while maintaining required documentation and quality controls
Preparing and restocking case carts and procedural supplies
Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating supply orders to maintain continuity of care
Maintaining infection prevention standards and regulatory compliance
Responding to urgent and emergent supply needs
Collaborating with clinical teams to support efficient surgical operations
Participating in department training, meetings, and continuous improvement efforts
