Sterile Processing Technician
About The Position
St. Thomas Surgery Center Clarksville is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician. The center focuses on offering a high quality, service oriented environment for surgical procedures, with a mission to treat every patient and their family as if they were their own, providing the highest level of care. The Sterile Processing Technologist cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases. This role is responsible for all departmental functions in support of USPI’s mission, vision, and facility goals, and establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors.
Requirements
- Must be a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2-3 years’ experience as Instrument Room Technician
- Experience with all types of sterilizers
- Knows operating room instrumentation
- Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray
- Understands operation of steam/gravity sterilizer
- Understands Sterrad sterilizers
Responsibilities
- Cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation
- Sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases
- Responsible for all departmental functions in support of USPI’s mission, vision, and facility goals
- Establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors
