Sterile Processing Technician
About The Position
Sterile Processing Technician opportunity with a schedule Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. This role includes weekend call coverage every seventh week (Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM). Ideal for detail‑oriented, team‑focused professionals who are committed to patient safety and quality care. Certified Sterile Processing Technicians are preferred, and training is available for motivated candidates eager to grow in this essential role. Inspects, assembles and evaluates all surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure proper sterilization, completeness of set, and to determine need for repair/replacement.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
- No experience required
Responsibilities
- Performs decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to established protocols.
- Inspects instruments, equipment and containers to assure cleanliness and proper functioning.
- Corrects instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets and/or instrument tracking systems.
- Maintains proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
