Job Summary The Sterile Processing Technician organizes, directs, and performs activities related to cleaning, sterilizing, storing, maintenance and distribution of equipment and instruments in the Sterile Processing Department Tuesday-Saturday 11:00 pm - 7:00 am Job Specific Responsibilities Daily assignments may include but are not limited to: • Process and package instruments and instrument sets to be used in surgical procedures • Properly package and load items on the carriage for sterilization • Store, issue, and track equipment; this includes delivery and pick up from various departments • Operate, monitor, and exchange the Detergent Management System • Operate all SPD equipment in a safe and efficient manner • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with sterilizers • Properly test equipment and document following sterility assurance guidelines • All other assigned related duties

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Computer skills required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (including, but not limited to, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
• Ability to learn Cerner, IDX, and other applicable hospital-based programs as they pertain to the required job duties

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Sterile Processing and/or Instrumentation Room training helpful
• Medical terminology helpful
