About The Position

$3000 Signing Bonus, if eligible; Full Time Night; REQUIRES: 2-years sterile processing experience, Active Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST), AND Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire Job Duties: Responsible for the cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instruments and medical equipment, ensuring their proper functionality and sterility to prevent infection within a healthcare facility, adhering to strict guidelines and protocols established by regulatory agencies. Work in conjunction with the Educator to provide additional training and support to employees. Performs duties as a preceptor and educator. Serves as support for new employees. Provides small group in-services and informal educational displays in the department. Assumes duties as mentor. Works with department management and educator to review and revise tech orientation program, as necessary. Helps coordinate activities with surgical pods, other teams, and departments. Facilitates effective communication between surgical pod special needs and the Central Sterile department. Evaluates operations and recommends changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Serves on department and hospital committees as requested. Takes lead on special projects as assigned. Performs all duties of a Sterile Processing Tech. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Requirements

  • 2-years sterile processing experience
  • Active Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST)
  • Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
  • Minimum of 2 years-Related work experience
  • Certified Sterile Processing Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
