Job Description I. JOB SUMMARY The Sterile Processing Technician II is accountable for decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging and sterilization, maintaining supply inventory, responsibility of department in coordinator’s absence. II. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES a. Checks equipment for leaks, broken or loose parts, or other defects. b. Purging waste from equipment and sterilizing all tools according to specific protocols. c. Organizes inventory and ensures stock for proper tools for all procedures. d. Performs appropriate decontamination of instruments and equipment. e. Prepares instrumentation and uses appropriate sterilization methods. f. Pulls surgery case carts daily and on call. g. Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
