About The Position

HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of sterile processing functions, assure proper decontamination, quality assurance, sterilization of equipment, and distribution of sterile surgical instrumentation to areas throughout the affiliate and outside service contracts to ensure quality patient care and safety, identify and remedy equipment failures and hazards posing potential risks to patients. In addition to, assists department leadership by facilitating department daily operations, including ancillary departments and inpatient floors, maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members, and leads conflict resolution and coaching. Position Specifics: o Department: Central Sterile o Core Function: Surgical o Schedule: Full time, Evening; 2pm-10:30pm; 40 hours/week o Facility: St. Elizabeth’s Hospital o Location: O'Fallon, IL o Sign On Bonus: $5,000 o Compensation aligned with your experience

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • WI - 12 months experience as a Sterile Processing Technician I or comparable healthcare experience in nursing procedures, aseptic technique, medical terminology, and infection control is required.
  • IL – 18 months hospital sterile processing or related work experience is required.
  • Certified and Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) is required.
