About The Position

The Riverside University Health System - Medical Center (RUHS-MC) is looking for a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join their Central Services and Supply Department. This role is crucial for assembling, cleaning, and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety. The position requires a strong commitment to maintaining a sterile environment and knowledge of sterile processing procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience in sterile processing is preferred.
• Knowledge of sterile processing techniques and infection control standards.
• Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT or CRCST) is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, clean, decontaminate, and sterilize returned reusable medical equipment and surgical equipment, ensuring all parts are operable.
• Identify and assemble medical and surgical instrumentation and supplies using count sheets; package according to sterilization techniques and generate labels.
• Assemble instruments and supplies for surgery or specialty cart procedures using pick lists; distribute sterilized supplies and maintain inventory levels.
• Create and maintain accurate equipment tracking, inventory, sterilization, and testing records using a computer or scanner.
• Store and maintain all sterile supplies and respiratory therapy equipment; keep processing areas clean and orderly.
• Ensure that department policies and procedures are followed.
• Provide vacation and temporary relief as required.
