About The Position

Lawrenceville Surgery Center is a single-specialty ortho surgery ASC. We have some of the best outcomes in the Gwinnett area. We are seeking a dynamic clinical professional that will carry the dual role of both sterile processing department tech and surgical technologist. This professional will be expected to perform and participate in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment. They will perform other interrelated duties as assigned or required. They will be exposed to fumes, chemicals, colds, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases as a part of the regular performance of duties as required of this role.

Requirements

• SPD Technician certification preferred.
• Ortho experience required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2-3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician.
• Experience with all types of sterilizers.
• Knowledge of operating room instrumentation.
• Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
• Understanding of operation of steam/gravity sterilizer.
• Understanding of starred sterilizers.
• Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items.

Responsibilities

• Perform and participate in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment.
• Carry out other interrelated duties as assigned or required.
