About Centennial Hills Hospital: Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center® is a 336-bed facility that is part of the six-hospital The Valley Health System in the Las Vegas area. We provide a wide range of medical services and procedures, including comprehensive women's services for the Northwest Las Vegas area. In addition to providing digital mammography, gynecologic care and gynecologic surgery, the Women's Center pays special attention to new moms. During their stay, moms enjoy special menus, massages and afternoon teas. The Women's Center maternity services include labor, delivery and recovery rooms, antepartum and postpartum care, a newborn nursery and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. Job Description: Manages the reprocessing cycle for surgical instrumentation, including disassembly, decontamination, disinfection, inspection, testing, assembly, packaging, labeling, high level disinfection, and sterilization. Cares for and operates ultrasonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers, and other equipment. Completes quality monitoring and documentation. Picks supplies and instruments to prepare case carts for surgery. Performs quality assurance activities. Assists with supply inventory management and clinic instrument rounds. Assists with mentoring, training, coaching, and role modeling for new Sterile Processing Techs. Performs all duties with a commitment to excellence, quality, and customer service.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Twelve months minimum in Sterile Processing.
  • Due to the highly technical nature, especially related to interpretation of manufacturer's Instructions For Use (IFU), ALL SPD staff must be proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Certification as Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) formally known as International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM). Staff members already certified at time of employment are grandfathered and it is acceptable to have either: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) formally known as International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) through Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD). Certification must be maintained.
  • Various applications related to Instrument management (Censis, OneSource), Microsoft office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
