Cares for and operates ultrasonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers, and other equipment. Completes quality monitoring and documentation. Picks supplies and instruments to prepare case carts for surgery. Performs quality assurance activities. Assists with supply inventory management and clinic instrument rounds. Assists with mentoring, training, coaching, and role modeling for new Sterile Processing Techs. Performs all duties with a commitment to excellence, quality, and customer service. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Certification as Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through International Association of Healthcare Central Sterile Materiel Management (IAHCSMM)) is required. Certification must be maintained.
Twelve months minimum in Sterile Processing.
Due to the highly technical nature, especially related to interpretation of manufacturer’s Instructions For Use (IFU), ALL SPD staff must be proficient in spoken and written English.
Various applications related to Instrument management (Censis, OneSource), Microsoft office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
Category 1: Job usually involves contact with patients or patient specimens. Exposure to blood, body fluids, non-intact skin or tissue specimens, is possible
Manual dexterity with the ability to assemble and disassemble complex instrumentation.
This employee will have heavy physical stress on the back. Involves frequent heavy lifting-more than 50 pounds-often combined with bending or turning. Employees in this category should be capable of heavy sustained labor.
