The Sterile Processing Technician performs cleaning, decontamination, processing, sterilization, packaging, distributing, storing, and delivery of sterile goods, instruments, trays, and equipment. The Sterile Processing Technician will support all patient care services and be responsible for knowing all of the tools used in an operating room, clinic, and hospital departments, as well as, sterilizing and packaging instruments used during surgery. The Sterile Processing Technician will also decontaminate, clean, process, assemble, store, and distribute medical devices and supplies, and keep records associated with sterilization monitors. The Sterile Processing Tech will perform appropriate documentation for the sterile processing processes. The Sterile Processing Tech will also be responsible for performing functions related to environmental cleaning of the surgical services department. Flexibility in schedule is required.
