Position Summary The role of the Sterile Processing Technician reports to the Sterile Processing Department Manager. This position is responsible for the decontamination and sterilization of all hospital instruments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• BLS, required within 90 days of hire.
• CRCST certification is due within 1 year of hire.
• CER certification required within 2 years of hire.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper protocol is followed for the decontamination of instruments
• Assemble and sterilize instruments ensuring proper sterilization technique
• Catalog and re-stock crash carts and urology carts
• Ensure proper High-Level Disinfection (HLD) of semi-critical items is performed
• Assemble case carts as needed for surgical case
• Properly open and ensure stock is stored appropriately
