About The Position

Responsible for cleaning, disinfection, preparation, processing and distribution of sterile and non-sterile medical supplies and equipment. Performs technical details according to written policies and procedures. Maintains expertise in all aspects of area activities. Monitors quality activities and the physical environment. Participates in continuous improvement processes. Completes other duties as assigned. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is not eligible for F-1 OPT STEM extension.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • On the job training is provided to develop the necessary skills and abilities to become CRCST certified.
  • Will be required to stand and walk all of the scheduled shifts.
  • The occasional pushing/lifting of up to 46 pounds.
  • Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) within 18 months of hire.
  • New Union Hires will have 18 months to achieve CRCST certification.
  • Mayo Clinic will reimburse testing fees.
  • Mayo Clinic will provide you with on the job training and after completing 400 hours of hands on experience you will be eligible to take the CRCST certification exam.
  • Payrate will increase after becoming certified.
  • Individuals hired to this position may be required to complete up to 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic.
