Requirements

High School diploma or GED
Must obtain CRCST, CSPDT or CST certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Sterile Processing Supervisor, the Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments, and the cleaning of patient care equipment.
Ensure accurate documentation of the sterilization process and actively reports abnormalities to leadership.
Participate in proper receiving and reprocessing activities related to loaner and consignment sets.
Under the direction of the department Educator, may serve as preceptor to new staff or Operating Room staff cross-training to Sterile Processing.
