About The Position

Full Time, Evenings Position Summary: Responsible for processing incoming supplies and equipment. Performs cleaning, decontamination and sterilizing duties, prepares packs of supplies, prepares supplies for all surgery cases, linens, and instruments in Sterile Processing as directed. Must be extremely conscientious with regard to procedures and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with all departments.

Requirements

• EDUCATION: Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent and completion of a sterile processing course or surgical technician program
• EXPERIENCE: Minimum: None
• REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION: Certified Central Service Technician certification or Certified Surgical Technician preferred. If not certified at time of hire into position, certification must be obtained within first year of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred: At least one year previous experience in central sterilization operations.

Responsibilities

• Sterilizes instruments, equipment and supplies as required; handles and stores instruments, equipment and supplies appropriately
• Performs biological and chemical monitoring in accordance with quality assurance standards.
• Follows proper case cart procedures for accurate distribution of supplies needed for surgical cases
• Controls all equipment for patient care, and biomed.
