About The Position

Under the direction of the SPD Manager, a sterile processing technician is responsible for cleaning, sterilizing and assembling medical instruments and equipment and ensures all instruments are sterilized and properly stored, organized and readily available for surgical procedures. Additionally they maintain detailed records of sterilization process and follow strict safety protocols to prevent contamination. This position plays a crucial role in preventing infections and ensures patient safety in the operating room.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Adequate verbal communication skills to interact with co-workers and other healthcare members.
Able to multitask efficiently.
Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, with excellent critical thinking, decision-making and communication skills.
This is a safety sensitive position.

Nice To Haves

Technical Diploma in sterile processing/ other related field or Associate’s Degree in healthcare administration, supply chain, sterile processing, or other related field preferred.
Certified Registered Central Service Technician- preferred
Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician Certificate- preferred
1-year experience in health care facility or industrial warehouse distribution/inventory or surgical processing technician.
Familiarity with surgical supplies and medical terminology.
