Opportunity Overview We have an immediate opening for an Sterile Processing Tech to join our team at Shady Grove Fertility in Rockville, Maryland.  Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Compensation:  $22 to $25 per hour (commensurate with experience) This role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day. Requirements

  • High School diploma required
  • Training in cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments/supplies is preferred
  • Have a basic knowledge of surgical technique
  • Current CPR certification, or acquire within 1 month of employment
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
  • Knowledge of office procedure and office machines (i.e. computer, copier, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment on a consistent basis
  • Ability to communicate accurately and concisely
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function as a team player

Nice To Haves

  • Training in cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments/supplies is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning, wrapping, and sterilizing instruments, trays, and supplies
  • Ensures availability of sterile instruments and supplies daily
  • Checks all sterilized items for expiration dates
  • Performs routine maintenance of instruments and equipment
  • Tracks and records lost/missing instruments and notify O.R. Manager/Assistant Supervisor as needed
  • Maintains inventory of instruments in work area
  • Assists in stocking and waste management of supplies
  • Assist with maintaining computerized patient charts
  • Proactively identifies supply needs to avoid out of stock situation and makes suggestions to reduce costs
  • Coordinates instrument repairs with Manager/ASC Supervisor and maintains record of repairs
  • Provides a clean, safe, and orderly work area and performs general housekeeping duties
