Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• SPD Technician Certification.
• Three years of experience to acquire advanced knowledge of sterile processes or comparable experience.
• Three years of technical and supervisory experience in the area.
• Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, Internet and Intranet software, e-mail.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Degree.
• Sterile Processing Training or Surgical Technician Training.
• Additional technical/clinical licensure.
• Three years as SPD Technician.
• Experience with complex instrument sets.
• Knowledge of performance improvement and data collection methods.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and participate in the decontamination, inspection, cleaning, operation of steam and other forms of sterilization.
• Oversee area daily operations, productivity programs, and activities consistent with Department Leadership's direction.
• Maintain adequate inventory for the assembly of instruments and equipment.
• Perform multiple tasks that assist in the daily operation of all units.
• Act as the point person with the Sterile Processing Department with other departments or units.
• Participate in various personnel actions, including talent acquisition, performance management, and training.
