Job Description Summary: Level I Sterile Processing Tech is an entry-level position. Incumbents are expected to learn the full range of duties/responsibilities. Level I Tech must promote to Level II Tech within six months of employment.
Requirements
- High School diploma (GED) preferred
- Level II: Two year recent experience in OR and/or SPD preferred
- CCST - Certified Registered Central Service Tech or CSPD - Certified Sterile Processing/Distribution Tech or CSPT - Certified Sterile Processing Tech
- Basic Life Support Required at hire
- Knowledge of case cart assembly
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- General knowledge of implants & surgical supplies
- Knowledge of safe practices, one-way flow, and infection control
