About The Position

Are you committed to providing exceptional care to the patients we serve? Our Central Services team is looking to add a Sterile Processing Tech to their evening shift team. Our ideal candidate will have prior sterile processing experience or prior patient care experience. 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Monday - Friday with weekend and holiday rotation Overview Christian Hospital has been serving St. Louis and the surrounding metro areas since 1903. Northwest HealthCare, six miles west of Christian, offers 24- hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services. Central Sterile Processing Department sterilizes the instruments for surgery and other departments and take cases to surgery. Role Purpose Function as a team member in the operating room to support medical and nursing staff during the pre, intra, and post-operative phase, including preparing equipment and supplies for use by the medical team, cleaning and sterilizing equipment and reusable supplies, assembling case carts/trays and performing direct patient care as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and processes instruments sets, trays, supplies and linen; prioritizes trays and tasks according to the surgery schedule.
• Utilizes and troubleshoots steam sterilizers.
• Follows proper techniques and procedures to ensure the integrity of the sterilization process.
• Disassembles, decontaminates, and processes instrumentation according to manufacturer and industry standards.
• Transports patients with any necessary materials and documents to treat or diagnose.
