The Central Sterile Processing Technician IIwill be able todemonstratethe knowledge and skills necessary to coordinate and collaborate in the overall cleaning, disinfection, assembly, and sterile processing of instruments needed for daily surgical and invasive procedures. He/she is knowledgeableregardinginstrumentation handling, care, cleaning, assembly, and sterilization.Is able to document all processes and ensure sterilization parameters are met in accordance with Hospital policy and AAMI standards.The Central Sterile Processing Technician IIperforms delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan for Swedish Medical Center. Requirements

CentralSterileTechnician orSurgical Techniciancertificationrequired.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum ofone (1) year ofpreviousSPD experiencepreferred.
Advancedknowledge in the role of instrumentation as well as decontamination and sterilization of instruments.
Demonstrates good organizational skillsand strong attention to detail.
Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Provides asset management and support of surgical instruments and trays belonging to or consigned to the facilityin accordance withThe Department of Health, TJC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, and AORN standards.
Properly handles, decontaminates, assembles, sterilizes, and returns for use all instrumentationin accordance withthe above organizational standards.
Assiststo develop and establishwork flow, process improvements, daily work assignments, logdocumentation, and management.
Accurate andtimelyreporting of shift details to incoming shift staff, Lead Central Sterile Processing Technician, and SPD Manager.
Supports daily operations of any activities that pertain to the processing of reusable instrumentation.
Works with other departments in order to provide all necessary items to perioperative services.
Reports broken instrumentation andprovidesvital communication with team leadership and/or manager.
Demonstrates consistent success in working, communicating with, and mentoring diverse staff.
Communicates in a professional manner to all staff and facility employees.
Demonstrates extensive knowledge of instrumentation in multiple specialty areas.
Other duties as assigned.
