About The Position

The Sterile Processing Tech I provides clean and sterile medical/surgical supplies and equipment to surgery suites and other patient care areas. This role involves decontaminating surgical items, assembling, sterilizing, and managing inventory control. Certified Technicians may take on lead or supervisory responsibilities to ensure efficient operations and maintain sterility assurance. Additionally, they may be assigned ongoing tasks and responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• One to three months of related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide clean and sterile medical/surgical supplies and equipment to surgery suites and other patient care areas.
• Decontaminate surgical items.
• Assemble and sterilize surgical instruments.
• Manage inventory control of sterile supplies.
• Assume lead/supervisory responsibilities if certified.
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
