About the position

We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained. This role requires a strong understanding of sterilization processes and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Sterile Processing Technician will play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team by preparing and organizing instrument trays and ensuring that all equipment is ready for use in the operating room.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained.
• Organize and set up operating room instrument trays.
• Prepare reports and keep accurate records of sterilization processes.
• Adapt quickly to changing conditions in the operating room as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• 2+ years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician
• Computer skills required
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required
• Experience with all types of sterilizers
• Knowledge of operating room instrumentation
• Ability to prepare reports and keep records
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions of the patient when needed
• Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients, and physicians.

Nice-to-haves

• CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred
• Understanding of steam/gravity sterilizers
• Understanding of Sterrad sterilizers
