Responsibilities The Sterile Processing Technician 1 is responsible for the sterile processing of supplies and maintenance of the operating room and various other departments within the hospital.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
  • Certificate required
  • Experience in a medical or hospital environment, preferably working with medical/surgical supplies required or
  • Current enrollment or completion of a Sterile Processing/Central Service Technician program required
  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Microbiology and/or knowledge of steam and Ethylene Oxide sterilization preferred
  • CRCST - Certified Registered Central Services Technician Certification from IAHCSMM preferred
