About The Position

HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Supervisor to oversee, coordinate, and direct frontline supervision of the Sterile Processing Department and the OR Aides. This role involves assisting with the education of all staff in SPD, OR Aides, OR, endoscopy, ambulatory surgery, and all students and residents in training. The supervisor will ensure the care, cleaning, and handling of all equipment and instrumentation that is brought to decontamination and any ancillary equipment returned cleaned and bagged. The supervisor will also integrate an exchange program to all ancillary areas for SPD support and will review current and next day's schedules to ensure all necessary instrumentation is adequately prepared. Additionally, the supervisor will assist with data collection for annual employee evaluations and performance improvement for the unit.

Requirements

• Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPT)
• High School Graduate / GED
• Related work experience in Sterile Processing including supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate frontline supervision of Sterile Processing Department and OR Aides.
• Assist with education of all staff in SPD, OR Aides, OR, endoscopy, ambulatory surgery, and students/residents in training.
• Coordinate and oversee crash cart revisions and day-to-day cart exchange program.
• Ensure care, cleaning, and handling of all equipment and instrumentation.
• Integrate an exchange program to ancillary areas for SPD support.
• Review current and next day's schedule to ensure necessary instrumentation is prepared.
• Assist with data collection for annual employee evaluations.
• Report monthly to the Perioperative Manager on performance improvement data.
