About The Position

Want to join a team of daring managers who care without reservations or limits? Our Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center team is looking for an SPD (Sterile Processing) Supervisor. You will have direct oversight and management of the Sterile Processing Department which serves the Operating Rooms, Anesthesia and Endo Services as necessary; you will also support the Labor and Delivery Department, the Cath Labs/Special Procedures and the Emergency Department by sterilizing instruments and trays used in these departments. You will be responsible for the oversight and management of reprocessing trays, putting away supplies, understanding the fundamental standards of sterility - Steam and Chemical Sterilization Process and High Level Disinfection (Medivator). You will work closely with the department charge nurse to create work schedules and daily assignments, and be responsible for maintaining, overseeing, and monitoring sterility testing at all times as well as maintaining the mandatory records for the Sterility management process. You will report this information to the Charge Nurse and the Infection Control Nurse per guidelines. You will ensure the department is tidy at the end of the day, that stock is rotated on the shelves and that the sterility of sterile goods is maintained. You will participate in the facility based re-processing program and manage the mentoring and training of current and new department team members, disseminating and educating all staff members on current professional best practices.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a scrub or sterile processing tech preferred.
• Certification as part of the Sterile Processing Association (AAMI, IAHCSMM) within 6 months of hire.
• Certification for an accredited Surgical Technologist school (Optional).

Responsibilities
