Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital - Frisco is preparing to open its doors in Spring 2027, and we are assembling an elite team of cardiovascular professionals who want more than a job—they want to help define the future of heart care in one of the nation’s fastest‑growing regions. As a Sterile Processing Supervisor, you will oversee supply distribution in healthcare settings like hospitals, clinics, and operating rooms. This role is crucial for maintaining service standards and resource availability, ensuring the department meets or exceeds healthcare accreditation standards in a cost-effective way. You will manage smaller sites with fewer than ten employees, and success in this role will improve healthcare service operations.

Requirements

  • Acquaintance with medical supplies, instruments, and the functioning of healthcare settings such as hospitals and clinics.
  • Comprehensive understanding of aseptic techniques.
  • Familiarity with various types of sterilizers and the methods to evaluate their performance.
  • Proficiency in handling all components of the ETO and Spill Plan Alarm System.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • Extraordinary focus on details complemented by effective time management abilities.
  • Great customer service skills for interacting with stakeholders like healthcare providers, insurance companies, doctors, and staff from different departments.
  • Understand regulatory requirements related to the role.
  • H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
  • 3 Years of Experience
  • Must have one of the following certifications/licenses: Cert Reg Central Service Tech (CRCST), Cert Sterile Proc/Distr Tech (CSPDT), Sterile Processing Mgmt Cert (CSPM), Cert Surgical Technologist (CST), or License Pract/Vocational Nurse (LVN).
  • Specifically: LVN, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), Certified Board Sterile Prcng&Dist (CBSPD), Certified Sterile Proc/Distr Tech (CSPDT), Sterile Processing Mgmt Certification (CSPM) or Certified Reg Central Service Tech through IAHCSMM (CRCST).

Responsibilities

  • Organize supply delivery in healthcare, ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Ensure proper staffing and staff involvement in improving performance.
  • Regularly clean the department surface areas, shelving, storage cabinets, and all storage locations in the facility.
  • Work with facility units to maintain inventory levels, set standards, monitor stock, and ensure resource use is proper.
  • Create supply control processes to keep patient care materials available at all times.
  • Regularly check inventory in nursing units.
  • Provide emergency items as needed.
  • Handle inquiries, complaints, or questions about equipment and supplies.
  • Help process and sterilize instruments.
  • Make sure everything stays clean for patient safety.
  • Oversee cleaning patient rental equipment.
  • Monitor use, costs, and get equipment from outside services as needed.
  • Maintain equipment with regular maintenance.
  • Follow safety rules, including OSHA guidelines, for handling Ethylene Oxide and sterilized items safely.
  • Identify areas that need improvement, assess potential enhancement opportunities, and passionately participate in process improvement initiatives.
