About The Position

To plan, organize, support, develop, and coordinate the operations of Central Sterile processing department collaboratively with Central Sterile Processing Manager. The Supervisor is a leadership position within Central Sterile processing department. They maintain a high level knowledge base of all functions and oversee the daily operations of the Central Sterile Department. The Supervisor is to provide professional, calm but immediate responses to all customers and staffing within the Central Sterile Department and Glens Falls Hospital. They are a direct extension of management and need to handle problems with finesse and accountability.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 5 years department experience preferred and 1-2 years of lead/charge or supervisor experience required
  • Required: certification as a technician (CSPDT or CRCST) through CBSPD or IAHCSMM.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing with other hospital personnel and the public.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally in a stressful work environment.
  • Ability to collaboratively lead a team with the aid of Central Sterile leadership team in the interest of best patient outcomes.
  • Ability to tolerate distasteful sight, sounds and smells.
  • Ability to provide knowledgeable answers for perioperative services and ancillary staff within the limits of all regulatory standards

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred
  • Preferred: Certified in Healthcare Leadership (CHL) through IAHCSMM and Certified in Sterile Processing Management (CSPM) through CBSPD.

Responsibilities

  • Provide rounding daily with perioperative services and ancillary services when needed. Coordinates the day effectively with perioperative services, and team leaders.
  • Exceeds all duties and responsibilities of the Central Service Technician job description to provide clear, concise, and accurate direction for all support staffing.
  • Proficient knowledge and use of Kronos system for a support to staff with attendance, schedule, and calendar
  • Proficient use of Clairvia to maintain staff scheduling
  • Continuously monitors Manufactures Instructions for use and maintains them for reliability and efficiency
