Mon - Fri Mid-Shift 10AM - 630PM Overview Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park. Barnes-Jewish West County Central Sterile Processing Department provides a service that is an integral part of the quality of care that we provide for our patients. We ensure the integrity and sterility of our products and services for our customers. We control all parts of the sterilization process: decontamination, prep & pack, documentation of sterilization records, and sterile storage. Role Purpose Directs and supports sterile processing staff to provide quality, efficient, cost-effective decontamination, sterilization and distribution services with proper management of service utilization and inventory levels.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years
  • Supervisor Experience < 2 years
  • CRCST

Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure the appropriate professional standards are consistently applied.
  • Provides decontamination and sterilization evaluation planning, operations and maintenance consultation to management at BJC organizations.
  • Assists or manages the operations of unit services and integration with other departments.
  • Provides input and may create effective work plans that include identifying the correct resources, processes and space needed for the work unit.
  • Monitors surgery schedule of cases to assure proper instruments are available.
  • May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
