About The Position

The Sterile Processing Manager at Summerlin Hospital is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Sterile Processing Department (SPD), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and managing personnel. This role involves coordinating the timely delivery of reprocessed items to various clinical stakeholders and maintaining effective interdepartmental relationships. The manager will also be involved in budget management and resource allocation to enhance productivity and efficiency within the department.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Healthcare required; Bachelor's degree in science or healthcare preferred.
  • Minimum of five years experience in Sterile Processing with increasing responsibility.
  • Prior management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English due to technical nature of the role.
  • Certification as Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required.
  • Additional certifications must be acquired within two years of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Familiarity with instrument management applications (Censis, OneSource).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee local operations management of the Sterile Processing Department (SPD).
  • Ensure timely delivery of reprocessed items to clinical stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for sterilization and High-Level Disinfection (HLD).
  • Manage SPD personnel and serve as a liaison between SPD and other departments.
  • Maintain effective interdepartmental relationships and resolve problems.
  • Manage the overall SPD budget and resource allocation.
  • Develop and maintain a system of internal reviews for compliance with regulatory and accrediting organizations.
