About The Position

A healthcare facility in Tamarac, FL is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Manager to lead and oversee the Central Sterile Processing (CSP) department. This leadership role works closely with the Director of Surgical Services to ensure effective staff management, regulatory compliance, and high-quality sterile processing operations. The manager is responsible for supervising daily departmental activities including instrument decontamination, sterilization, and supply management to ensure surgical teams have timely access to sterile equipment and supplies that support safe patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Certification from an approved Central Sterile Processing technical program required (such as certification from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association or the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution )
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Minimum 3–5 years of sterile processing experience
  • Lead or supervisory experience within an acute care hospital setting

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Surgical Services in managing, training, and developing sterile processing staff
  • Oversee daily operations of the Central Sterile Processing department
  • Ensure timely availability of sterile instruments and equipment for surgical procedures
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in the development, review, and implementation of departmental policies and procedures
  • Monitor and maintain quality control standards for decontamination, sterilization, and storage processes
  • Coordinate workflow to support operating room schedules and clinical department needs
  • Promote best practices in infection prevention and sterile processing standards
  • Maintain documentation and ensure readiness for regulatory inspections and audits
