Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.
  • Three to five years’ hospital experience in Sterile Processing or Operating Room working as a Sterile Processing Technician, with previous charge or lead technician experience required.
  • Central Sterile Technician Certification is required by International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) or the Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician credential administered by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
  • Travel to multiple facilities is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Materials Management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and directs the activities of the Sterile Processing Department/Perioperative Reprocessing for the purpose of providing sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment, and service for the care and treatment of patients, utilizing knowledge of aseptic techniques and body mechanics.
  • Adherence to all regulatory requirements is a critical competency both for infection control and staff safety.
